Working with tweens/adolescents can be challenging. However, we know that play can be useful to engage tweens/adolescents with playful techniques to help them work through depression, anxiety, grief and loss and family issues. This training will provide practical play based activities that you can practice and be able to use with tween/adolescents.
- Review preteen and adolescent development and how to introduce play based activities to tweens/adolescents.
- Learn and practice at least 3 different play therapy techniques to use when working with tweens/adolescents.
- Learn and practice at least 3 play therapy techniques to assist tweens and adolescents to improve communication and strengthen their relationships with their parents/care givers.

About the presenter:
Sheri Mitschelen, LCSW, RPT-S is the Owner and Director of Crossroads Family Counseling Center, LLC and Crossroads Family and Play Institute in Fairfax, VA. Sheri has over 25 year of clinical experience working with children, adolescents and families. And is an Adjunct Faculty member at George Mason University and Virginia Tech. Marriage and Family Therapy program teaching Advanced clinical work with Child and Adolescents and Play Therapy.
