Yoga and Mindfulness Tools for Play Therapists

This experiential workshop will introduce participants to different types of yoga, breathing, and mindfulness exercises that can be used to enrich sessions for both play therapists and clients. Opportunities to practice, create and play will be part of the workshop so participants can identify play therapy techniques that will be the most effective to meet client’s needs. Play Therapy participants will leave with an understanding of ways to incorporate multiple techniques into their sessions. Plan to bring a Yoga mat or you can borrow one and wear comfortable clothes to move in!

  1. Participants will learn yoga and mindfulness techniques to aid in their own self-care and self-awareness during and after play therapy sessions.
  2. Participants will learn specific yoga techniques to use in play therapy sessions with clients.
  3. Participants will learn how to identify and use yoga techniques in play therapy sessions based on client need (i.e. anxiety, self-regulation).
